General Information
Salamina lies in the entry of Eleysina gulf and is hardly 1 n.mile from Piraeus. It is a beautiful island and due to being so close to Athens ideal for a visit on weekends.
A glorious moment of its history was the naval battle of Salamine in 480 B.C. when the Greeks shattered the Persian fleet and thus saving the country from the Persian intrusion.
