General Information

A geographic area in the northwest end of Greece. It borders on the northwest with Albany, in the east with Macedonia and Thessaly and on the south with Akarnania. On its west side is the Ionian Sea. It has an extent of 9.203 sq. km and population of 332.132 people.

The region is mainly mountainous and the flat regions are only round the estuaries of its rivers. The bigger mountain range of Epirus is Pindos. The mountains with the beautiful forests, the rivers and lakes are harmoniously combined with the castles, churches, mosques, the old bridges and the beautiful beaches on the coasts making Epirus an ideal destination.

The most important products of Epirus are: cerials, cotton, tobacco, olericulture, potatoes, citrus fruits, olives, and in livestock sheeps, goats and fowls.
